Job Overview
As the Reservations Manager at Manyara Secret Lodge, you will be responsible for overseeing all
aspects of the reservations department. Your main objective will be to optimize occupancy rates,
maximize revenue, and ensure exceptional guest satisfaction through efficient and effective reservation
management. You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies, maintain
relationships with travel agents and other booking channels, and ensure smooth coordination between
departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall reservation process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to
company standards and policies. - Monitor and analyze reservation trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify
opportunities for revenue maximization. - Develop and implement strategies to drive bookings and increase occupancy rates.
- Maintain relationships with travel agents, tour operators, and other booking channels to secure
partnerships and maximize distribution. - Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to develop promotional offers, packages, and
campaigns to attract new business and drive repeat bookings. - Provide ongoing training and guidance to reservation staff to ensure high-quality service
delivery and adherence to reservation procedures. - Oversee the management of the property’s reservation systems and ensure accurate inventory
management. - Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and payment
processing. - Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests related to reservations, providing
timely and personalized responses to ensure guest satisfaction. - Prepare regular reports and analyses on reservation performance, market trends, and revenue projections for management review.
- Utilize hosting skills to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their stay.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in reservation management to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency.
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 years experience in reservations management, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of ResRequest and online booking platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests, team members, and external partners.
- Proven leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using reservation software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant computer applications.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili (both written and spoken); additional language skills are a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the operational needs of the property.
