Job Description

A newly built seasonal camp in the Serengeti driving for semi luxury accommodations and luxurious service. The camp consists of nine (9) guest tents with double occupancy, which can be either two twins or single king bed with the option of adding a third twin bed. The temple also consists of one family tent, which can accommodate five adults or can we convert into two separate guest tents. Maximum capacity is 25 adult guests.

Job Overview

As a housekeeper for a 10-room tented camp, your primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all guest accommodations and common areas. You will play a crucial role in providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience for camp guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning and Sanitization:
    • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of guest tents, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, according to established standards.
    • Ensure all surfaces, floors, and furniture are dusted, vacuumed, mopped, or wiped clean.
    • Change and launder bed linens, towels, and other guest amenities regularly.
    • Restock guest supplies such as toiletries, towels, and tissues.
    • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas, including restrooms and public spaces.
  2. Organization and Inventory:
    • Keep track of inventory and request supplies as needed.
    • Arrange and organize linens, amenities, and cleaning equipment in an orderly manner.
    • Monitor and report any damaged or malfunctioning items or equipment.
  3. Guest Services:
    • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guests’ requests and needs are met promptly and professionally.
    • Respond to guest inquiries, complaints, and requests, and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
    • Assist with luggage handling and other guest services as required.
  4. Laundry and Maintenance:
    • Operate and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring that all laundry is cleaned, dried, and folded correctly.
    • Report any maintenance issues or repairs required in guest tents or common areas promptly to the appropriate department.
  5. Compliance and Safety:
    • Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Follow established procedures for maintaining security and privacy in guest tents.
    • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the management.

Skills and experience required:

  • 2 Years housekeeping experience in a hospitality setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical usage.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
