Responsibilities

Job Overview

We are looking for a Chief Maize Miller who be responsible for the optimum milling yield while maintaining maximum production during the shift. You will be responsible for managing production, supervising the production team by assigned shifts to ensure production guidelines are being met within the established timelines, qualities, and cost standards. As a Chief Maize Miller you will be required to train, direct, and lead the production team in the day-to-day operations while observing safety, and quality requirements. We expect you to be flexible in working hours  and assigned shifts. You will be driving communication of production goals and objectives as well as directs the routine maintenance and set up of machines, equipment, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor production line to ensure efficiency,
  • Supervise, manage, and control the production team,
  • Ensure quality products and packaging,
  • Work closely with the maintenance team in order to ensure that planned maintenance does not have detrimental effects on the production level,
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks,
  • Expedite repairs to line, working with maintenance as necessary,
  • Operate all manufacturing equipment efficiently and safely,
  • Clean equipment and area before, during, and after shift,
  • Maintain clean work area through good housekeeping practices,
  • Keep daily records of down time and machine operations,
  • Work well with others in a team-oriented atmosphere.

Minimum Qualifications

Skills and experience required:

  • 5+ years of experience in maize flour production in a factory with minimum capacity of 1 ton per hour,
  • Must have a proven background in mill management and operations,
  • Experience with ROFF machines is an added advantage,
  • Knowledge of maize milling,
  • Supervision experience in an organization,
  • Reporting and analytical skills,
  • Enjoy a hands-on work environment,
  • Computer literacy (especially MS Office- Excel),
  • Fluent in English,
  • Mechanical insight and technical ability.
