Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing

Responsibilities

Position Purpose:
Director of Sales will manage Sales and Marketing plans of two Multi Resorts to ensure they accurately support the objectives of the business. You will use these plans to focus on the sales efforts by recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the hotels are competitively positioned within the local market segments and feeder marketplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As DOS&M, you will be responsible for multi property Sales and Marketing of two Resorts (Cluster Operations). You will be working closely with the Senior Management Team to identify and drive business needs and expand existing business through promotional efforts, focused activities and various sales channels. You will work to develop the sales group and groom a high-performing sales team.

  • Prepare all commercial contracts for the Resorts in accordance with current business and pricing trends.
  • Manage and direct the business forecasting process in conjunction with Revenue Manager to insure accurate, timely and complete information.
  • Prepare and direct the reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department that meet the needs of the hotel owners and senior management team, that to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly Forecast and Booking Reports.
  • Liaise effectively and cooperate with other departments in the Resorts, particularly Reservations, and the Banqueting Department, to create an exceptional guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs.
  • Direct the Sales and Marketing operations of both the Resorts. The DOSM will be responsible of preparing the Sales and Marketing Plan, Annual Budgets, Profit & Loss, Revenue Forecasting, Advertising, Marketing, developing and writing business plans, and ownership meetings.
  • Execute initiatives and swiftly implement strategies and tactics to offset demand of the markets, economy or driven by the competitive set.
  • The DOSM will be responsible for the efficient running of the Resort brands in line with its strategic priorities, whilst meeting customer and owner expectations.
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge and able to train and monitor both the group and transient contractual agreement process, quoting rates, sending referrals and the management of retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts.
  • Contribute to position the Resorts in the local marketplace through appropriate Sales and Marketing initiatives and recommends to ensure the hotel product and services align with the positioning and brand promise created through marketing communications and sales channels.
  • To develop, implement, maximize, monitor and evaluate the hotel’s Sales Strategies (goals, tactics and actions) to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue figures in Rooms, Food and Beverage, and all other revenue-generating and MOD departments.
  • To develop sales associates productivity with multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests. Maximize sales development through leadership and by example (carrying out sales calls) participate in the hiring of team members, and their future success.
  • To create a strong and disciplined sales team who achieve their respective sales goals.
  • To monitor and make sure all offers, sales proposals, collateral, digital tools, and other sales communications are in line with the hotel’s brand standards, and up to date in terms of groups, congresses and seminars.
  • Actively participate in client’s familiarization trips, site inspections and road shows to acquire new prospective client whenever required.
  • Demonstrate effective cost control and adhere to internal procedures for approval of expenditure.
  • Be accountable for responsibilities of the department and take ownership for the execution of all S&M functions.
  • Maximizing room yield and Resorts revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ideally with a University Degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience as the Director of Sales & Marketing in a 5 star international hotel brand. Resort experience will be a plus.
  • Strong organizational, planning and leadership skills, whereas it is evident that DOS&M will effectively manage, coach and motivate a team in selling techniques to perform beyond expectations.
  • Strong analytical skills so to understand key business indicators and competitive trend and develop approaches to these challenges.
  • Ability to prospect new business and build relationships with current customers.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in the similar role with the proven ability.
  • Ability to harness financial and competitive set data to inform decisions.
  • Ability to work well under time pressure and demanding schedules.
  • Good operational, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Effectively lead department in providing the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
  • Results driven, energetic, and focused to deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills.
  • Good command with clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English. Any other language will be a plus.
  • Flexible to respond to a different work situations with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent computer skills
